May weather provides great opportunities for outdoor adventures and Saluda Outfitters offers the best quality gear and apparel to help you enjoy your out-of-doors experiences.

 New Bike Shop/Food Truck Manager

We are so happy to welcome our new Bike Shop and Food Truck Manager, Todd Mallin. A veteran cyclist of more than 30 years, Todd is excited to take over management of the shop and help it grow to serve the local area. Passionate about getting individuals on bikes and getting them moving, Todd has already made great improvements in our bike shop preparing it for the summer. A Giant bike dealer, Saluda Outfitters has the opportunity to help cyclists find the right bike for their needs. In addition, the shop is full service, offering both sales and mechanics and Todd has a background in both. The shop is also offering bike rentals this summer.

A graduate of Johnson and Wales University’s culinary program in Charleston and a Hendersonville resident, Todd has extensive experience in food service and most recently served as the chef for Hubba Hubba Smokehouse in Flat Rock. He has prepared the menu for The Big Hungry food truck and will provide various specials throughout the summer. (Check below for food truck hours.)

Retail clothing/shoes/gear

Don’t forget Mother’s Day is May 12. Come by Saluda Outfitters and check out our new fashions and accessories that make great gifts for any mom. Don’t know what to get, purchase a gift card and let Mom decide. We have a variety of specialty items that will work well and make Mom feel very special.

We are introducing Free Fly apparel into our already great clothing assortment. Free Fly combines the incredible comfort of bamboo with a touch of quick-dry material that is moisture wicking and more breathable than cotton. We will have styles for both him and her.

Also added is Meridian Line sportswear for him. This is a great outdoor style for summer. A new shipment of Chaco’s will hit the store this month with new styles and colors. Plus check out our Smokey the Bear Chaco’s that will be added to the tees and Only You caps that have already arrived. A joint partnership between Landmark Project and Chaco, a 10% donation from every sale will be made to the U.S. Forest Service for wildfire prevention as part of the 75th anniversary celebration of the iconic Smokey the Bear.

Our new colors of Saluda Outfitters and Green River Eddy’s tees have arrived and we can’t wait to get our new shipment of Green River Eddy’s and Saluda Outfitters’ hats in new colors and styles, also.

Our true river adventurers will appreciate the line of Pyranha kayaks—the Ripper, The Machno, and even the Rebel for the young kayakers—that will soon be available in-house. As a Pyranha kayak dealer, we can help connect you to the right size and type of kayak. We are also proud to be connected with H2O Dreams certified whitewater instructors again this summer, as they offer kayak instruction, youth camps and kayak rentals.

Our sales closet has become very popular. Come by and check out these hot sales from 40-60% off for shoes and clothing.

Bicycle Shop News

We are a Giant bicycle dealer and our bike shop is open with a technician ready to serve you, whether it is to repair your current bike or help you purchase a new Giant bike for yourself or a loved one.

For the fishermen and women, we have added some custom fishing rods by Trout Cruisers Unlimited. Made in Candler, N.C., by David West, an experienced fisherman, these rods are light weight and custom fit. All rods are rated for varying weight lines and comes with a metal case for safe storage.
