October is a great time of year in the Western North Carolina Mountains. The leaves change colors, the air gets brisk and life just seems fresher. Come for a visit to soak in some of our clean mountain air. You can even take your mask off to do it six feet apart!

It is time for hoodies, long sleeve shirts and light jackets and Saluda Outfitters has just stocked up on all. We have a great fall collection of warm and comfortable apparel, hiking boots and outdoor gear.  Check it out when you are ready to get outside and have some fun.

Speaking of having fun, see what October 31 brings.

First Annual Halloween Celebration

Join us for some Halloween fun, Saturday, October 31. Bring the kids and wear your favorite Halloween masks. The kids can get some candy in a safe environment and there will be an adult costume contest later in the evening. Special music will begin at 6 p.m. with Young-Chhaylee of Charlotte and Sly Sparrow of Spartanburg will kick off the adult party from 8-11 p.m.

We’ll also be collecting canned goods for Thermal Belt Ministry, a nonprofit that provides assistance to those in need in the Polk County area. There is a $10 contest fee with a portion benefitting the Ministry. There will be cash prizes and participants must be present to win. Winners will be announced at 9 p.m. Stay tuned to Facebook and Instagram for more details as the date nears.
