The wait is over! Spring is here with daffodils springing from the ground and ready for warmer days ahead and Saluda Outfitters is ready for everything new! There is so much going on at this one-stop-shop at the intersection of Ozone Road and Highway 176 just 1 mile off I-26 at Exit 59. We are extremely excited for our customers to see how busy we have been making Saluda Outfitters and Green River Eddy’s Tap Room & Grill the place you want to be this spring and summer for great deals on retail as well as a place to enjoy a new food menu and a new entertainment area.

In retail and new for Spring 21 in our gear area are Eno Hammocks, Atlas straps and ENO camping accessories. Black Diamond headlamps and hiking poles for sunrise adventures are the ticket. Our newly designed downstairs bike shop is filling up with quality Giant brand bikes for all ages and all the accessories you need to keep riding.

In the shoe and apparel area, you will see new Kuhl apparel for women and men. Great Meridian Line hoodies and tees include a local favorite and newly designed Captain Bird Beard! There are new styles from Keen for hikers and water lovers. We also have a new shipment of spring fragrances in your favorite SO Candles. If you haven’t had a chance to come by lately, you haven’t seen our new line of Virah Bella bear paw quilts, hooded throws and accessories. We have a new shipment, also, of Chandler 4 Corners wool throw pillows including bear and fly fish designs. Also for our fishing enthusiasts, we’ve added Reel Threads socks in vibrant colors and patterns of fish species.

We have also introduced into retail Bitchstix, a line of lip and body balms with sales designed to support survivors of domestic violence. There is also a new line of glycerin soaps called Soap Rocks in lots of different scents and in the colors and shapes of rocks and gems.

Artist of the Month

In March, we introduce our local artist of the month —Carol Slowik! We just added her copper plated and copper enamel N.C. state necklaces to our retail jewelry selection! These will not last long before they are grabbed up and are a must-have piece to add to your jewelry collection.

Entertainment at SO and GRE

It won’t be long now that we’ll reopen our outdoor music venue. As weather warms in early-to-mid-April, we’ll announce our Friday/Saturday night line ups. For March, however, we have the popular married duo, Seth & Sara scheduled. The Asheville couple who entertained us Feb. 27 will bring their original music and entertaining stories to our indoor music venue once again 5:30-8:30 on March 20.

Customers will be surprised to see a new outdoor stage as well as an indoor stage for our bands pop up within the month. Our retail area will feature a more open floor plan for ease of sipping, shopping and jamming!  Downstairs you can now enjoy a game of pool, foosball or darts or just chill in a more private, quieter area. Stay tuned for news about an upcoming music festival in May at SO/GRE as we feel confident life will be getting back to normal for outdoor entertainment.

Saluda Outfitters is proud to be able to help local musicians who have struggled to make a living during the pandemic crisis by offering them a venue to perform and a safe outdoor area for our listeners.

March Hours

We are excited to announce that our food truck will be open in full force by mid-March. That means those ½-pount burgers will be back. This is a little earlier than in the past but we have a new chef who is cooking up a delicious and exciting spring menu. He has already spiced up the menu with things like Szechuan Cowboy Chili and smoked wings with spicy Asian sauce as well a chili and grits or pinto beans and grits. While our weekday menu will remain limited, the chef has the kitchen hopping on weekends so mark your calendars to stop by.

Continuing through March:

–Retail and tap room are closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

–Retail is open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday

Originally from St. Louis, Seth has been recognized and praised through the states for his mesmerizing vocals, heartfelt tunes, and raw talent on the strings. His passionate performance, aided by his wife Sara on percussion, is bringing the sound to Saluda Outfitters & Green River Eddy’s Tap Room for a second time this year. If you enjoy a night filled with love, humor, heartbreak, dancing, and a rootsy kind of edge, then Seth and Sara is a show not to be missed!” Check them out at www.sethbrand.com or listen to one of his original songs at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35OKhKlwhzo&feature=emb_logo&ab_channel=SethBrand
