March was a great month in Saluda and our team was especially proud that many Saluda businesses joined with Saluda Outfitters/Green River Eddy’s to support an inspirational young girl who is fighting a battle for her life. Thanks for donations provided by Saluda businesses for a raffle and silent auction, as well as a $2,000 match by SO owners Ryan and Amber Griffin to cash donations, the March 20 fundraising pulled in more than $6,100 with funds continuing to trickle in. The money will be used to help 10-year-old Selah Grace Henderson of Hendersonville as she faces a returning and life threatening cancer. It is always great to have a community pull together for a good cause! Donations can also be made at https://ahealinggrace.org/support-a-family.
A second special event, the Rock’n’Roll Truth Fest, is being coordinated for May 15. This music festival is a fundraiser for Blue Ridge Humane Society. Program funds have dwindled during the pandemic and the nonprofit was also hit with an unexpected expense when the catalytic converters were stolen from their vans. Plans are in the works and Saluda businesses are welcome to participate with a small sponsorship. For more details, call Angela at 843-655-9788. We’ll have more details available in early April.
Entertainment at SO and GRE
Saluda Outfitters is proud to be able to help local musicians who have struggled to make a living during the pandemic crisis by offering them a venue to perform indoors and outdoors. (Check this publication for a full listing of upcoming performances during April.) As the weather warms up, we will be expanding our music offerings and including our outdoor stage areas. For information on booking a gig with us, email Angela at email@example.com with your contact information, a short bio and link to your music.
Currently, music is scheduled for Saturday evenings from 7-10 p.m. Our new indoor stage, The Sound Garden, is open and ready to accommodate live entertainment. There have been lots of renovations over the last couple of months including the addition of a game room downstairs so stop by to check us out! In mid-April, we will celebrate our fourth year in business here in historic Saluda. We can’t wait to celebrate with all our great customers and friends.
